TransFollow has established a dedicated legal entity in Spain, strengthening local support ahead of the country’s 5th October 2026 requirement for mandatory electronic freight documentation.
The new entity will be led by Carlos Gallo, Country Manager Spain, who brings more than six years’ experience at TransFollow, and extensive supply chain expertise.
TransFollow has been well-established in the Spanish market for over seven years, with a strong database of customers and working closely with several national shippers, carriers and transport associations.
“Spain is entering a new phase of freight digitalisation, with legislation encouraging businesses across the supply chain to adopt digital ways of working,” said Carlos Gallo, Country Manager Spain.
“We have been working with Spanish organisations for several years already and are seeing growing demand from companies looking to simplify how they exchange freight information, improve collaboration with partners, and prepare for an increasingly digital transport environment.
“Formalising a dedicated local structure allows us to be closer to our customers, respond faster to their needs, and support them more directly as the October deadline approaches.”
From 5 October 2026, Spain will require the electronic administrative control document (DeCA) to be digital for domestic public road freight and cabotage, following a June resolution setting technical requirements.
This change is expected to have a wider impact on international supply chains, particularly for companies operating cross‑border transport into and through Spain.
The establishment of TransFollow’s strengthened Spanish operations forms part of its wider European growth strategy as regulatory developments, including Spain’s legislation and the European Union’s Electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) Regulation, continue to drive demand for interoperable digital freight solutions.

Spain has taken significant steps towards digitalising freight documentation in recent years, including recognising electronic consignment notes (eCMRs), which now have the same legal validity as paper CMRs for international road transport carried out in accordance with the eCMR Protocol.
